Talamona was an Italian brand of moderate success in Italy and other parts of Europe, but never really gained a huge following here in the states. Founded by Cornelio Talamona in 1929, the small company started to grow after World War Two when Cornelio's son Cesare started making pipes alongside his father. Later, Cesare's own children joined the brand, and the best years of the company were the 1980s with a significant portion of the pipes being sent to Germany. However, following the death of his wife, Cesare closed down the company at the end of 2000. Today you will occasionally find Talamonas on the estate market, where they are always a good value for a decent smoking pipe.
