August 04, 2011 - Post RTDA Sale!

Normally each year we run a site-wide sale after the RTDA show. Due to the new website software, putting the entire store on sale is difficult, so we tried something new this time. This week at The Piperack, we have a nice group of estates and unsmoked on sale from 20% to 35% off, including pipes from Dunhill, GBD, Northern, Lindner, Comoy, Charatan and many more.

In addition, I have a special offer on Radices. My agreement with the Radices is that I do not put them on sale; this is the same for all dealers. HOWEVER, I CAN offer special deals (such as free shipping) and this week, I have a very special offer indeed! Purchase any unsmoked Radice at $200 or less and receive a store credit for $25 which you can use on your next order. July 17, 2011 - Out of town

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I am out of town this week attending the IPCPR Trade Show in lovely Las Vegas, Nevada.  The office will be closed for business from Saturday July 16 through Thursday July 21.  I will return to the office on Friday July 22.

During this time, packages WILL go out (thanks to a friend helping me out), but I will not have access to voicemail and won't be able to return phone calls until my return.  I will have occasional access to eMail and will do my best to respond to eMails in a timely manner.

There WILL be an update coming out this Thursday as planned.  Keep your eye out for more Lindners, some great unsmoked pipes from the 1970s as well as a nice selection of estate pipes.  Thanks!

January 22, 2011 - NEW Customer Loyalty Program!

The Piperack is pleased to announce some special discounts with our new website!

The new website design allows me to provide some special offers that the old site did not allow me to do.  

For starters, I have implemented a new "Customer Loyalty" discount program.  Starting with the rollout of the new site, any customer who places three or more orders in any rolling six month period will AUTOMATICALLY receive 5% off their order!  This discount will apply automatically starting with the fourth order placed and will appear as a discount during checkout.  There is no need to use a coupon code; in fact, if there are any coupon codes available at the time of your order, you can use it in conjunction with your 5% discount.  The discount even applies to sale items and there is no limit on the number of automatic 5% discounts you can receive as long as you maintain at least five orders placed within six months.  It's just our way of saying "THANK YOU!" for your continued patronage and loyalty.

January 11, 2011 - Welcome to my website!

You may have noticed something different!

2011 is bringing some changes to The Piperack.  Besides the fact that updates will come every other week in order to allow me more time to make pipes, I've decided to do a complete upgrade to a new website. 

The new site will provide a faster, easier browsing and shopping experience, with better security and a faster, easier checkout process.  Searching the site is simple; you can search by the categories (such as pipes, accessories and sale items), or you can search by brand name.  You have access to an advanced search engine which will allow you to search by brand, shape, finish or any other keywords, or you can find similar items to the one you're looking for by clicking on the "Tags" tab below the main picture to find products that carry the same keywords. 

As time goes on, there will be more changes to the website, including integrating better photos, adding some of the design elements of the old site and fleshing out more content as time allows.

IF YOU HAD A CUSTOMER ACCOUNT ON THE OLD SITE, you will need to add a new account at the new site!  You will only need to do this for your first order; once your user account is created, it will save all your billing and shipping information and will allow for express checkout.  In addition, you will have access to things like your your current orders, order status (received, in process, shipped, etc) and other useful tools.

It may take a little while to work out some of the details, and of course I'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions.  I know that this is a  big change from the old site, and it may take a little getting used to, but I can guarantee you that once you've spent a little time on the site, you'll find it to be MUCH improved over the old site - especially considering that the old site used a shared Security Certificate and was starting to give error messages during the checkout process.  The new site is much more stable and is sure to give you a better experience overall.

If you are already a member of our eMail update list, you won't need to re-add yourself to the mailing list; all the settings for my mailing list will stay the same and we will continue to use the fantastic service provided by Constant Contact.  If you AREN'T a member of our update list, signup is easy - in fact, you'll have the option to add yourself or "opt out" during the checkout process.  Our update list will still get a 24 hour advance notice of new additions, although there will no longer be a private page, only a category link.  I'll still be offering weekly specials as well that will only be available to list subscribers.
