Ser Jacopo is one of the most influential Italian brands to be formed in the past 20 years. Giancarlo Guidi started Ser Jacopo in 1982 after leaving another company he formed called Mastro De Paja (perhaps you have heard of it?). The amount of knowledge and passion this man possesses is evident in the pipes he makes.
This Ser Jacopo is part of the Compta series. The Compta series was introduced in 1997 and is considered by Giancarlo to be the most difficult series he's ever produced. A series of perfectly executed classic shapes, the Compta line is accentuated with either silver or gold bands. This particular Compta is a beautiful L2 Natural smooth Dublin with very nice grain, medium-large capacity, and thin, engraved silver band.
