COMOY PIPES
Starting in France in 1825 and utilizing various local hardwoods for their pipes, Comoy started producing "modern" briar pipes by 1848. By 1879, Henri Comoy (the grandson of the founder, Francois Comoy) had moved his company to London, as this had become the largest market for Comoy pipes. A full 40 years before Dunhill made their own pipes in-house; Comoy had already established itself as one of London's premier pipe companies.
